The dealer selling me the car actually told me that Mazda3s i was buying have curton air bags. I guess he didn't know and was mistaking for the us model.
LOL. Should've made him write and sign it. Then he would be liable if you get into an accident and the airbags didn't "deploy." =/

airbag won't save lives if seatbelts were not used.

I know a number of people who were not killed only because they were wearing seat belts.
It is very impotant that everyone wears then all the time while driving. The forces exerted in an accident can force anyone right out of the window. Seatbelts are a must at all times.
Only time will tell what really happened and what kind of settlement will be reached by ICBC.

That's very true. I wonder how many people are killed in car accidents just 'cuz they weren't wearing a seat-belt, as opposed to cars not having the latest safety features.

Canadians already have a high rate use of seatbelts. The US has much bigger problem.

ICBC is an insurance company, and as cold as it sounds, if they can find some reason not to pay out, then they won't....
As with the facts of the case, the police are still getting everything together. Tapes of radio transmissions will be analyzed to determine what everyone was doing at the time of "pursuit".
As to why police can't release any details, it's because a person is always innocent until proven guilty, and releasing information may lead to legal ramifications that can free the suspect. Plus the media will pick and choose to release and try to sensationalize something as tragic as this. I was part of the VPD senior management meeting today, and they had more details, unfortunately I can't share them....but when a person is known to police, it doesn't mean that they had done something serious before. Addicts are recognized all the time.

I don't think Keiichi should/could discuss it privately as those info are private and confidential.
Just let the police do their thing. What happen happened. All will have to wait and see.

Read the newspaper today. The deceased victim's sons demanded an "apology" from the police?!
who killed the father? It is a tragedy this happened but let's please wait until the facts straight. We don't even know did the RCMP actually pursued the car. It's all the media still holding a pursuit was engaged.
Other facts: The Hyundai was NOT a stolen car. It was borrowed from a friend of the driver. Father was a hard worker and the primary source of income to the family.

I think the "apology" was stated at a heated time .. let's not make any judgements just quite yet. like you said, let's get the facts first.

well tonite's new showed that RCMP had talked to the family and the family respects how RCMP has their procedures on dealing with investigation. More info were given to them and they are satisfy with the explaination.
I guess it was emotional that they are suddenly so helpless with the lost of a loved-one. Hope everything from now will be better for the family.
