Will be in Van next weekend with the GF....will be spending the day at Playland.
Now the quesiton is.....what is there to do on a Friday night?
Can anyone recommend a good hotel near Playland....?!?!

clubbing/pub
night market
Saturday night you could try to watch the fireworks
I can't think of a good hotel around Playland as the area itself isn't the best.
For a new hotel, you could try RiverRock.
Depending which city you wanted to stay in, there are many decent hotels.

Uh Don, I think he means next weekend.? You know Abbotsford airshow, Mazda madness weekend.
You mite want to reserve a room. Airshow weekend is usually packed, fans come from every nook and craney.

There's a Hilton in the Metrotown area (Willingdon and Kingsway) that's nice. Maybe a 10 - 15 minute drive to the Playland area (take Willingdon north to Hwy 1 west and exit at Hastings).

I'll only be staying Friday night guys......then Mazda Madness on Saturday  . Okay I just realized that Playland is in East Hastings lol....cancel staying there. We're probably gonna wanna go clubbing....what's good? I guess I hotel needs to be near these kinda places  . Hmmmm I've never stayed in the hilton before.....might be the first time to try....I'll be thinking sex tape all night lol |

the plaza isn't bad to go clubbing at. also there is a place called granville room that's right beside a night club...forgot the name of it. nice lounge to chill out at.
if you really want to try your luck and explore exotic stuff.....CELEBRITIES!

if you're planning on clubbing, clubs are all in downtown.. so hotels there are plenty.. Sutton place, sheraton wallcentre, hotel van, hyatt regency, fairmont waterfront, pan pacific, best western on granville (2 there), a holiday inn somewhere on hornby i think.. all in that area so thats something you can think of..
downtown isn't bad because it's close to hastings.. u can just take hastings along all the way to east hastings and to playland.. west-east hastings is a long road tho lol

lol I love it when guys hit on my girl...it happens all the time. She very quickly shoots them down though lol. I think I'm going for the hilton, I just saw the price of hotels in vancouver! :| Check out some prices. |

The thing with Hilton on Metro is near nth else. A decent club is 30 min drive away.

But if they do stay at the Hilton, they are right at a skytrain station. They can head straight into downtown, party it up..and take it back...

Be careful with the Hilton. I stayed there a few years back. Decent prices but they charge for other serivices. They charged me $2 per calling outside the hotel to friends. Virtually no view for the price.
You mite want a more central location to downtown and Playland.

Hmmm well it's not important to be close to Playland....as I have a car (duh) ....I'm more concerned about stumbling out of a club into my hotel room  . Doesn't anyone have discounts at hotels downtown?  |
