DAY DREAMING ABOUT MY 3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

« on: August 08, 2006, 11:33:00 PM »

I usually hear people complaining that all the crazy drivers live in Richmond but that's not true.  Two years ago, I was driving at night from Quebec City to Montreal about 165km/hr in a thunderstorm and people were still passing me and flashing their high beam for me to move onto the slow lane.   Surprising, I didn't see any accident on the highway.

Vancouver is the only place that people can't change their driving habit with weather change...or simply lacking comon sense.

People around the world drive safer at high speed, narrower streets then Vancouver....

Every place has crazy Drivers.? In the East, Quebec drivers are crazy.? In BC Albertan Drivers are nuts. In Alberta, BC drivers are the wild drivers.? In Europe, the French with their yellow headlights were the crazy ones for me, driving like a bat out of hell on side roads.? My uncle in England used to give me rides around the countryside doing over 100 mph around blind corners.? Nutso!!

No matter where you go there will be crazy drivers.? Some people have described me as crazy.? After all, anyone whom turns a corner in a Chevy Sprint in the winter on ice on one tire should be crazy.? But I can switch my craziness off.?

There's a video on m3f showing off a bc members exhaust system from inside... he just happend to be weaving like a dumbass through the Alex Fraser bypass road to New West. Though that was great, he gained all 50 ft.

I used to drive the 401 from Kitchener/Waterloo to Toronto every day for work... I would set the cruise at 150, and drive in the middle lane, with a few jumps out into the fast lane, just to pass someone... But people drove very very well on that road.  Why?  All the dumb ones either got scared or killed.  Either way, they weren't on that highway anymore.

Around here, people drive 90 in the fast lane, won't move over so someone can pass, and will blindly drift over into you, doing a no-look lane change.  Much slower, and much much worse.

I've also driven Montreal a few times... it's like the 401 on uppers.  High speed, but also high skill.

How about no look, no signal merging? That is how I witnessed an accident.

for me, no signal = not letting you in

as one show NO intention to merge, so I won't lay off to let the car in Evil

Yeah of course. I occasionally block people when they are trying to merge because they don't signal.

I'm guilty of this today... Sad

Some big ass truck turned in from a side road attempting to do a left turn and stopped right in the middle of my lane because traffic he was trying to merge into was still flowing heavily.  I slowed down and swerved to the right lane out of its way but in doing so I am pretty sure I cut off a Prelude quite harshly. Sad  Luckily nothing bad happened...

In BC Albertan Drivers are nuts. In Alberta, BC drivers are the wild drivers.

Haha, isn't that the truth!

It's true that crazy drivers are everywhere, but in certain areas they seem to congregate (i.e. "see lai's" at the chinese malls in richmond)... LMAO!

The worst drivers in my mind are the ones in Hong Kong and Macau.  Example: Double decker buses cutting each other off with literally a few inches to spare.....now would that be considered "skillful" or just plain stupid??

I also think taxi drivers in general can be crazy and aggressive drivers.

but yet you rarely see the bump into each other. They stop so close that (back in the days where they have open windows) you can touch the person's head on the bus in front of you.

If you think HK and Macau drivers are bad......go to China and have a look. The lines on the road mean nothing. The sign posted mean nothing. Hell even their traffic light mean very little. It's all about who got the guts to move, moves! There is no such thing as yield. Grin

I ride in the a taxi last year in China, it's like racing style, a 3 lane road can easily have 5 cars running along sides, and the signal and horns are useless, they just flash people with their high beams and then pass them, I was seating in front too, wat a ride
