Today, right after I picked up the HID bulbs form Kumbi in Richmond, driving S.E. Marine Drive(outside Super Store), I got rear ended Angry. Her Neon hit my car where the black unpainted bottom portion of the bumper(similar to the Mazda 3 sedan rear bottom). I've got her info and told her I will check it over in detail to see if I will report ICBC.

I hope this is the end of my bad luck. Maybe these are all birthday gifts from  Evil

Anyhow, after a closer look, it doesn't seem that bad. Only surface scratches and small push into the bumper that only using your hand can feel it. Now my question is should I bother to get it fixed? I imagine body shop will use filler and paint the whole black unpainted portion. Would it look funny afterward and paint get crack easily. I think I can use some shoe polish to make the scratches black again and might not be that noticeable. I mean even now I asked my wife to see if she can spot it. She couldn't.

oh-no dude!!!!!!that major sucks ass.....if anything, thanks for the ride in the car, had good midrange torque!!!Well as a car nut, i have to get it fixed. I would get it painted...If the scratches are not that bad (or nicks), just get it sanded down enought and paint it what ever the body color would be Smiley

Well I gotta say you will be fine. Bad things happen three in a roll and you have exhausted the bad luck.

Now I would still claim it even it is minimal visual damage. There might be hidden damage. Also if you have two three claims going to a bodyshop, they better cut you a deal on the deductables.

If you want to keep the black portion black, they will use bumper paint. They are more flexible then regular body paint. However, you will loose the rubber (little dots) texture as they will prep the whole thing (sand and fill if necessary). And if you do want it key coloured, I am sure they will also able to hook you up without extra charge.

OMFGS. But shit happens. Tongue

Since you are going to get your doors fixed, I would go ahead and get this fixed too.

Don't worry Terence, your streak should be over now. Grin

Terence, from experence, i think once shit start happening, it keeps on happening. You really need to avoid a lot of things for quite some time for the storm to pass over.
For example, with my old celica, everything was going perfecting till one day shit start happening:
1. It got broken into and about $700 worth of things gone.
2. Got a lot of tickets for stupid reasons. My judgement got clowded for some reason.
3. Got into a rear ender. Car got written off.

After getting my Mazda3, the storm was over. Just keep cool and imagine if nothing has happenign, other wise things will keep happening.

I know, yesterday on my way home after hit, I was on flame. But as soon as I open the door, my princess yelled "ba ba". "ba ba". Flame out immediately. Smiley

I guess when you get old, you value the family more than anything.

That is so true. At the end of the day, a family will able to overshadow any bad thing happened in the day.
