if u like "siu loan bao", try the Aberdeen food court ones, they are really good.....the order come with 6 but with the same price u can get 8 uncooked and steam it at home anytime, I always have a bag in my freezer

Best shanghai restaurant is Shanghai River on Westminster Hwy, across from the Bay. It's between No. 3 road and Minoru.
Fresh soy milk, fresh dumplings...you see them make it. The "siu long bow" has soup in them...awesome fried "silver thread" bread with condensed milk....hehehe Shanghai stuff rocks.
Another good one is in the Save on Foods complex on No.3 Road...forgot what it's called.

The "soup" in siu long bao is technically the fat and oils from the meat... but it tastes oh soo good!!!

some freeze actual soup into cubes and put it in the center of the meat, so it will melt when cooked The "soup" in siu long bao is technically the fat and oils from the meat... but it tastes oh soo good!!! some freeze actual soup into cubes and put it in the center of the meat, so it will melt when cooked

that is the best place. Sure it isn't a fancy restaurant, but price is good and food is tasty is all I care. They do take resevation...if you book in advance. But for the spontanous craving, there will be quite a lineup. I've been visiting so often that they put me down on the list while I am on the way.

Shanghai Palace on Granville and 64th is pretty good and not too expensive. I usually walk away pretty intoxicated after eating too many siu long bao.

It doesn't have a big sign, but it's next to the Starbucks on the corner. Haven't been there in a few months, but I think it's still there.

I went a tried out Shanghai Wind today. The prices are very reasonable, but quality wise, I still think Shanghai River is better.
hehehe. But their Beef Roll is very tasty...hehe
