I'm a few years under that, which means I got more modding years to come than you oldies!  I think I read the other day that over 50% of males aged 18-24 have made some sort of mod to their car, and 24% of females aged 18-24 have modded their cars.  The average person spends $2800 on mods on their car, where the average male spends a total of $4000 in mods!  This is an average!

I'm far past that average, lol.  Topping $10000 in mods now Shocked

Actually not really.  To be honest, the turbo I got second hand off a guy in North Van.  All it needed was a Fuel Management Unit.  To go in my car, I also needed to get my oil pan tapped (got a new one so I don't tap the stock one), replace the AC fan with a slimmer one, get a new intake filter, and get the oil pan tap kit.  I decided to get the hot side of the turbo, the downpipe, manifold, and j pipe sandblasted and ceramic coated to keep all that heat in and stop it from heating the rest of my engine bay.  All this only cost me about $2800.  Compare this to $3800 US brand new, so well over $4000 CDN!

The other big purchases that have raised my mod total are the coilovers, wheels/tires, CF hood, and exhaust.

I'm not even close to done yet either, lol.

For ride height, from what I've heard, nothing on your car can sit lower than the bead of the tire.  If this is kind of unclear, there is a simple way of looking at it.  If you take your tire off, or you get a flat, the rim must be the first thing to touch the ground.  Let's say you are riding so low and you get a flat, your bumper hits the ground before your rim does, this is illegal.  Not many people ride this low anyway, usually show cars or cars on airbags.  It is virtually undrivable anyway.

So, to go really low, just get bigger rims and really low profile tires Tongue

Front window tints is the one that really bothers me.  Many states and provinces allow some front window tint, why is it safe in those places but not here?  I think I'm going to start a petition and get my MP to push for changing that law Tongue

Any work on your car done improperly (non-professional or inexperienced backyard mechanic) can be dangerous whether its a mod or just a repair/maintenance.

I agree that drivers, not the cars, are dangerous.  How many of us have seen that "safe" driver going the speed limit that just drifts over into the next lane without shoulder checking?
