I know a number of you are taking photography courses, so I was wondering what your opinion is on them and what kind of things they are teaching you and what kind of classes are in the course, etc....
I was looking at some here in edmonton...and would like to snag some....

Wouldn't hurt if you're going from an idiot proof camera to say a digital slr or a 35mm autofocos where you can change lenses. Plus, it helps if you know what kind of photographes you are taking, whether it's action, portraits or nature. Also, it wouldn't hurt to find out what shutter speeds are best for what.

I have a film SLR and a DSLR
I know quite a bit about photography, but want more formal training....and want more knowledge on metering, composure, and lighting.

Any basic couse generally covers the same thing. How a camera works, which includes a lot of theory about lighting, optics and equipment. After that, it is just a matter of taking lots and lots of pictures using and playing with those theories.

yup same for my photography class basic stuff on how to operate the camera, then teach u things like depth of field, shutter speed n stuff very very ez class  i was expecting more like how to compose better pictures but unfortunately my prof doesnt teach us that |

well...the problem with this place I am looking at requires me to take 3 of the pre-req courses before I take the enrichment classes =(
even though I will fly through the pre-req courses I cant skip them =\
are the classes fun Thomas?

yeah...unfortunatly the marks don't count towards anything for me.
they're going to tell me all this stuff I already know...which is why I am kind of hesitant of spending so much money...
I guess if I take 1 course I can see what it is like and see if it's worth moving on...

no one offers them at night...and most are stupid PP courses....I want to learn how to shoot photos...not fix my photos...
i hate how photog courses are becoming filled with PP....PP doesn't make good photographers!
