Yeah, Sushi is cool. It's probably going to be way under $200 too, which is good. But this is a date! lol..

Well, sushi it is then. But are you sure your typical BBT addict likes Sushi as well? lol
I skimmed through that thread you posted, but I have no clue whatsoever.

Edit: Any specific Japanese place in DT that is especially popular among the Richmond occupants?

If you don't want to do sushi (altho mmmm yummy sushi is fun), go italian.. http://www.umberto.com/gia2.htm  Il Giardino is a lil italian joint near where Tony Roma's used to be downtown... REALLY good food, esp if you order dessert wine... entree's avg around $25-$40 so you could probably spend 2 bills there max... just a suggestion Smiley

There is this greek restaurant on davi st, called stepes. I am not 100% sure of the name of the place. The food there is awsome and it is not very expensive either. And you dont need to book ahead.

For a hip trendy Japanese place, try out Happa Izakaya, it's just a bit down Robson, almost across from Cloud Nine.
Just because she's an HK girl, doesn't mean she doesn't like western food either.  You can take her to any of the nice hotel restaurants there, Griffins, Cloud Nine, Top of Vancouver, etc.

For a classy but less formal experience, try out Cafe Pacifica in Canada Place.  It's not the official restaurant, which is Five Sails, but it's pretty classy, but yet sort of casual, so you can dress nicely, but it won't be stuffy with all the prim and proper.

If you want a nice chinese dinner.   Try Kirin.

I would not go to stephos, as that isn't a classy place...more for big eats for cheap price.  It's busy, because of the good deals, not because it's "trendy".

>>>> try the private downstairs table in the cellar downstairs at Villa De Lupo (italian) but its unlikely you can book it in time. It will cost you anywhere between 200-400 depending on wine and appys...

Stone Grill is kinda nice too. It's the environment/view.

Does it have to be downtown?
