There's one or two in the Vancouver Sun URL. The videos were stored on my company's intranet so I don't know where my co-worker got them from. They were pretty good quality.

Hopefully it will be a quick fix. The white rooftop of BC Place is an iconic aspect of Vancouver's Skyline.

This is the first time anything has happened to the dome since it was installed 25 years ago.
It had a guarantee of 25 years...haha thats kinda funny....
BC Place staff deflated the dome themselves, to relieve some of the pressure, and they are bringing in engineers to evaluate whethere some of the cable should be cut to relieve some more pressure. They have fans going to keep the roof at the 1st balcony level so it doesn't go all the way down to the turf.
Atleast noone was injured.

Saw it at work. Looked like an apple pie going bad after being taken out of the oven.
Glad to hear that no one was hurt in the process...

Of course the guarantee expired! A lot of stuff made back then suffered from the same thing. Would have been funny if there was a football game or something else going on though.

How would that have been funny>> People could have been hurt (if ppl were inside) if it deflated on its own. BC Place is where they are going to hold the opening and closing ceremonies for 2010...now they are concerned if the roof is going to be in good enough condition or if anything else is going to go wrong with the building before the olympics. That would have been tragic if it happened the day before the opening ceremonies were to start..would make vancouver the laughing stalk of the olympics.

Meh. I am not one for "what ifs".
Shit happens, when it hits the fan and things still go smooth, laugh it off.

Yes... comedy and tragedy are so closely bound like love and hate.
Seriously, I couldn't help laughing a bit when I saw the roof deflate... if only because I knew no one was hurt and I find that things deflating in real life are pretty funny. I mean, I was making immature hissing noises at my desk at work when I was watching the video (hence the name of this thread). Just gotta take it in stride when no one gets hurt.

Okay, yes it was a good thing no one got hurt. But if you actually look close enough, the roof did not go all the way to the floor. They only let it down to the second level I believe. So if there was an event taking place, chances are, not many would have been hurt.My apologys if anyone one took my last statement in this thread as being mean.
