I was replying to the post that said Banff is halfway, with the comment about Hope. If Banff is halfway from Calgary, then Hope is halfway from Vancouver.

So, yes, I was being sarcastic....

I was being sarcastic too. Yah Kelowna or Kamloops i think would be halfway. Golden is only maybe 3 hours away max.

That's the only problem with forums and online typing. You never know for sure if someone is being funny, or sarcastic, or completely serious!! Have to be careful about what you laugh at, and at what you reply to... (a lesson I've learned the hard way in the past!)

Wow lol Golden is only 3 hours out of Calgary. Kelowna/Kamloops are only 3 hours from the lower mainland. The true halfway point between Calgary/Vancouver is somewhere around Salmon Arm/Shushwap area or just thereafter.

Hmm, well the drive usually takes me about ten to ten & 1/2 hours. I would say Sicamous takes about 5 hours. So I guess Sicamous would be around halfway. I know Golden is a 7-8 hour run from here so take about 2-3 hours off the time from there. I sure wish they would make the Salmon Arm - Banff stretch 2 lane. You can kill a lot of time getting stuck behind Semis and RV's. Although I must commend the job they have done, amazing how much road they have had to pave and through some very mountainous regions.
