So, I am happy to say I was one of the lucky few to take the new CX-9 for a ride yesterday. I have a few first thoughts about the vehicle that I will share with you and some pics to top it all off. Sorry about the quality of the pics, but understand they were taken with my camera phone! Some thoughts: - The new 3.5 V6 is smooth, powerful, and sounds great without being overwhelming - Interior noise is minimal, quiet, and very pleasant even at highway speeds with the moonroof open - great list of options for the vehicle and even better list of standard features (optional bluetooth, rear entertainment with 9" screen, dolby 5.1 surround with 11 speaker Bose Audio System!!) - lots of interior volume and efficient use of space - fantastic unique styling for the CX-9 without being too over the top - Mazda Brand DNA and stlying are apparent everywhere yet the CX-9 has it's own sense of style and feel - HUGE 20" wheels!! These are a nice touch and fill out the wheel wells very nicely - Stability control and management of power for the AWD is phenomenal even with full power and full brakes with 2 tires on snow and 2 on clean pavement!! - Fantastic handling and steering input is effortless - it was nice to see that the mazda variable assist power steering was very functional at different speeds without any hiccups giving a nimble feel and great feedback through the steering wheel regardless of the size of the vehicle. - Overall impression: This one's a winner and has a great price point for it's market segment!! Cheers, Pete

prices are starting from the high 30's and stretch to around 52 area for a GT AWD with navi and rear entertainment system!! Hella good price for what you get and all competition starts in the mid 50's!

The pricing is excellent.
I'm not entirely sold on the styling and much prefer the look of the CX-7. The interior, however, looks stunning.
Do you know if there are any plans to use the 3.5L V6 in any other platforms?
Kev
P.S. Looked like a great day to test out the AWD.

My guess is the next-generation (2008?) Mazda6 will get the same (perhaps detuned?) 3.5 litre V6 engine. CX-9 looks spectacular, both inside and out. Really cool looking fogs!
