This is the new baby Porsche. A lot of people are up in arms about Porsche selling their "exclusivity" by going more mainstream with models like the Cayman and Cayenne. Do you still consider Porsche an exotic? I personally don't care about brand imagery so much. So long as the driving characteristics are true to the Porsche heritage I don't really care if they make their cares more achievable or common. Your thoughts?

That's a nice car.  But looks as if the designer of Porsches are really stuck on the 911 shape (for both this car and the Boxster).  Guess they are going to milk it as long as they can...

Personally, I really enjoy "driveability".  In that price range, makes little difference to me whether it's a Porsche, BMW, Audi, Lexus or whatever.  It's gotta do what it's meant to do.  In this case, it should be a "sports car".

Indeed. It sounds like it will be a good driver's car. I'm curious as to how it will be priced, especially relative to the 911 C2. Hopefully people don't knock it much like the Boxster was knocked for being a "poseur" car. The Boxster is quite the fun little package and many people fail to see that simply because it's the cheapest Porsche vehicle.

Agreed.  The Boxster is a very very nice driver's car.  I have a hard time understanding how Porsche is going to differentiate amongst the three cars (Boxster, Cayman, and the 911).  Price wise, it's not a problem -- but driving wise, I'm not sure...

Somewhere between the Boxster and the 911 (~$90k), IIRC.

I have heard a US base price of $58k. The 911 bases for $69k in the US.  Porsche options add up fast and furiously though.

Yeah, it's been around for a week, but I doubt the final product would look like that.
