leblanc was quite a surprise on the track.

The china segment was hilarious, a lot of racial stereotypes, but i enjoyed every moment of it lol

leblanc was pretty boring during the interview, ok episode compared to the first, but i did like the segment about the sls roadster. It pointless but that much more awesome

My buddy bought me an "I am the STIG" shirt from the UK while he was studying there few years back Smiley  I rarely wear it.  Its just a plain T Shirt but usually I save it for Autox and for Autoshow outings...  It's one of my fav shirts Grin

The cars were going so fast into that wall! I was worried for James' life.

Give it up for LeBlanc!!
I wish I could say we're related.

I still think it's unreal how the Chinese copy other company's cars.

Yeah, its quite uncanny.  I saw LeBlanc's time and realized that it was gonna be fast but didn't realize it was gonna be that fast!  Americans are represented well on Top Gear lap times...

Also when he started talking about his Porche I realized how much I've learned over the years with my car.  I understood most of what he was talking about!  'OMG I'm a total car geek, bcmazda3 nutjob...'  lol

LeBlanc summed it up pretty good when he mentioned why people modify their cars in North America vs Europe.
The culture of modifying is not just being satisfied with how a car comes from the factory, since any idiot can walk off the lot with the same car.
It's defining that we are gear heads and therefore need to have our cars that much faster and stand out among the others.

I really would like to see Top Gear do a segment on how modification of a car can make an average car into a totally different car, without going into the typical yardie boy rice.

This^.

The only time they did it was way back when they compared a modified Peugeot 306 to an old classic Austin Healey and came to the conclusion that modifying was pointless. But that was a stupid car with no engine mods or weight reduction mods.

there's also the segment where they modified a Renault Avantime, which became slower as they modified it.
And the segment where they were pretending to be teenagers, Jeremy bought a turbo'd Volvo, Hamster bought a hyundai where he put on a bumper kit from another car, and i forget what may had but he had a huge stereo system.  Though it wasn't about modifying for speed, it was a segment about modifying for personal preferences which is similar to most people here.

I think the difference is in the UK, modifying isn't as popular because more power = WAY higher insurance premiums.  Astronomical numbers that we don't see here in NA.

For those that are interested, you can see that episode in series 12, episode 3.

Last episode until fall aired tonight. Best of the season I think. Kimi in the Liana, Slash in the C-apostrophe-D, new M5, James drives the Ferrari 250 California Leg hump & the boys go rallycross racing.

As much as I enjoy them clowning around, I think the best episodes are when they actually take the challenges seriously (like they did at Imola S18E01).

Can't wait till fall!
