I had a thought while posting my "Spotted" post... instead of having to try and guess who you spotted, why not make it easy?

This idea could be coded up with information and the framework already available in the SMF (simple machines forum) database - I know this because I run SMF on a website I manage and I dabble in PHP / MySQL.

Start page features two choices - Hatch / Sedan - click on either one to "filter" the choices.
Next page features all the colours available for that model - click on the colour of the car you saw to narrow it further.
Third page shows photos all the vehicles for those criteria.  The owner has one "main" photo and if you click on it you can view other photos from that owner.

Thoughts?  I could try and cobble an example together if anyone's interested.

Well people have to put their info in for it to work, otherwise it is pretty easy to sort through the DB.

I could be easily be made available to registered members only... but then again, anyone could register.

And yes, people would have to put info in - car deets (which isn't hard, it's a one time effort of "model" and "colour") and their photo(s).

I'll try and mock something up using dummy data next week and see if it'll be worthwhile.
