It's all about setting expectations. And she loves you, I hope she won't expect these things

well of course but see girls need suprises.. what you buy her is important... it has to be sth she likes.. (in this case, leighton just chose to buy sth expensive... everygirl likes tiffany).. but the suprise of getting her sth she lieks. its double as important
JUST buying your girl something expensive does not prove that you love her and buying yor girls omething expensive does not mean you're stupid

gifts should not be rated by its brand or price tag. Leighton can cook, so cooking a nice dinner will be better then tiffany & co. once you set the bar too high, you will have to top it up the next time

Naw, actually girls don't expect MORE compared to the last gift.....
I think it's an expectation that guys throw upon themselves to one up every time. And obviously we want to spoil our girl, but we can only one up so many times.....

Sure gifts can be rated upon brand and price...
I mean it shouldn't be the only thing, but do you think your girl would be happy if you went to the night market and bought a knock off, compared to the real thing?
Buying something nice (once in a while) is also an expression of your feelings and what she means to you. It's even more meaningful when you don't have that much money. Sure it may hurt the wallet, but that makes it that much more meaningful, because she realizes how much you sacrificed just for her.

and I don't want to spoil my girl... and I believe girls might not want more for the next gift....but at least on par with the last is on their mind.

I don't mean buying knock off fake stuffs. But in general buying a coach vs buying a LV... and I think it is really stupid to buy expensive gift to "express" your love while you have to cut down on your stadnard of living (aka instant noodles club ).

But in general buying a coach vs buying a LV... and I think it is really stupid to buy expensive gift to "express" your love while you have to cut down on your stadnard of living (aka instant noodles club ). But what is more important, YOUR standard of living or bringing her joy, happiness, etc. Can you say to your girl: "I think it's stupid to sacrifice what I spend on myself to spend it on you......" I'm not saying that you have to ALWAYS buy something expensive etc, but something like this once in a while, is just like cooking a good dinner, taking a nice walk in a memorable place, etc. Remember, one of the most critical points is that the girl isn't ASKING for these things or expecting them. (if she is.....F*** OFF! haha), but the point is that you are voluntarily doing this not for expecting something in return, but just for her. You know how they say, it's a give and take relationship, that's BS.... a true relationship is where you are giving, all because you want to and not because you expect something to be recpriocated. What you get is actually what she is giving without the expectation of something in return.
