Did anyone catch the show?  Anyone do their IQ test?

Thoughts/comments?

I thought their Logic and Math part were brutally easy.  Pretty easy test.

You can do it at www.cbc.ca/testthenation

The problem is this sort of test is going to be biased towards the native speaker.  There is at least one question that is also culturally biased.

That said, I found it pretty "easy".

How did you do?

All I can say is don't use your girlfriends laptop with a touch senstive pad you aren't used to or she might beat your score.
I don't like the timer on the questions either.
If you guys think it was so easy then post your scores. Not all the questions are that easy, especially in the time allowed.
I found the visual memorization ones hardest since you don't know what they are going to ask so if you focus on the wrong things then you won't get the right answer, but if you happen to be looking at the right place then your good.

I don't think it was too too hard.. I made one mistake I should not have on the math section, ran out of time just as I was trying to click the answer.. but language is always my worst when taking any of these types of tests (ESL is my excuse) =)  Of course I did take the test near 3 in the morning =P

I somewhat agree about the visual memorization, but 20 seconds is quite a lot of time to memorize stuff.  I think the key is not to "concentrate", but pick out as much as you can, and yeah.. if you're unlucky, it will be one of the things you didn't think of.

This is only a sample of what a real IQ test would be like.  This test is way too short to give a good representation of what they are trying to measure, but I'm not expert.  That's just an opinion.

I got 130.  I thought I'd get around 110 or so.  I'll post the pics of my result later.  I'm guessing the guys who said it was easy probably got 150 or so (wild ass guess).  (I hope posting my score isn't going to condemn me to flack as this isn't a competition as it's not a precise measurement anyhow) and yes.. I only took this test once, but I did do the mental exercises samples to warm up.

The memorization part was easy for me as I'm still a student and memorize on a regularly basis.  The Math part was also quite easy because Math has always been my strongest point (contrary to what some members of this board might think!).

My worst part was definitely the language part (stupid hard word!).

Having taken a "Logic & Reasoning" class, as well as a "Critical Thinking" class helped me do well in the Logic section.

I scored 134 (the first and only time).  I have, however, done countless of similar IQ tests over the course of my life.

.

A better indicator of "intelligence" is the wonderlic test.  One must do 50 questions but in only 12 minutes (all MCQ's).  The average for that test is around 17.  Unlike IQ tests, you can't practice this test to improve your score.

Lawyers on average score 30 in the wonderlic test.

132, late at night.

I guess we're all geniuses here :p

I don't think the test was too difficult, but some of the transformation questions really tax a tired mind.

I got 128.

Language 11/12
Memory 6/6
Logic 10/12
Visual memory 4/6
Math 10/12
Perception 10/12

I think I could do better, but it's not as important as unwinding at day's end.

I did poorly on the first try. After getting the hang of it, I scored much higher...
And obviously, you will score higher during your prime during the day...

unadjusted and non-standardized index, inconclusive in my opinion.

Yeah that's definitely a personal improvement over the last five years.  I think I'm past my peak on reaction and memory, though.  I missed several of the math and logic questions simply because I was being a geezer.  I think it's a fair downside though - one needs to be quick and correct to be truly good. Smiley

The score I got is within ?10 or so points of what I usually get on these types of tests, so for me, it's a pretty fair theoretical evaluation.  At the end of the day, I still say it's what you do with your brain that really matters rather than just having the potential.

I scored a 138 and that was one of the worst IQ tests I've taken in a long time.

It's good enough to distinguish the normal from the retarded. Unlikely to sort among the cream of the crops.

I'm sure those that care to differentiate themselves will do something like a Mensa test to get themselves "certified smart."
