Going skiing for the first time in 3 years tomorrow at Cypress. I'm pretty excited! Should be a blast.

Haha I'm going to Mt Washington this weekend after not skiing for almost 3 years either.

And I'm going to try to teach my wife how to downhill ski!

Have you got a good divorce lawyer retained?  Just saying, you're running a risk.  Wink
I ended up paying a friend, who is a certified CSIA instructor and very good at it, to try and teach my wife.  It was a lost cause because she just couldn't/wouldn't relax, as soon as the skis start to slide she goes into a rigid-stiff state.  She has a severe fear of falling and breaking something.

We'll see how it goes.  She has cross-country skied, so at least she's been on some form of skis before.
I plan to go up on Friday and use the cheaper rate and lit green runs of night skiing to give her a chance to try it.  If she can't handle it, then we'll just go cross-country on Saturday.

I thought about getting lessons, but I'd rather see how she can do on her own first.  I think it'll be good that she won't feel like she's wasting time or money goofing off during the night skiing.

My first time ever downhill skiing (which was only about 6 years ago) my buddies dragged me to the top of the Whistler Gondola and said "Your survival instincts will kick in to get you down!" I never took any lessons Tongue

Hopefully she'll love it.
My wife now snowshoes, and they have killer crampons on them to keep her from slipping, with hiking poles to help her keep her balance on the trails near Jasper.  She takes pictures and we meet at the end of the day when I get down from Marmot Basin.  I started skiing when I was 5.

You're looking at the newest business analyst in training for my department. The boss said yes.
The boss also said 2-3 year long term plan, the team lead said 2-3 months plan. So we'll see. I'll let them duke it out.

Lavish is several notches less than extravagant.
