What would you be driving right now? Why?

For me a TDI Golf 4 door with minimal options and chipped. Love the economy/power quotient of chipped diesel's. Soot anyone?

How about you?

I'd have a supercharged MINI for sure... That was the original first choice, until I fell in love with the "3". (and realized how far I'd have to go just to get the MINI serviced!! )

Actually Kev, it's still in the family.  Sister has it now 'cuz she had her Civic stolen...  I just put in some mods (front and rear strut bar, grounding kit) and was planning on adding more...

Oh, well, now I can concentrate on the MZ3 !!!

well if they didn't have the 3 but kept the Protege then I would go for that because I used to miss my 94 Protege (til I got the 3)

BUT if we're talking like Mazda didn't exist.......I'd try to convince my mother that buying a Ford F150 is a good investment  Grin

but something comparable to M3?  It would probably have to be the Corolla mostly because everyone I know has a Civic

I'd only go domestic if it was a truck

I TRY to stay import when I can.

umm...if there was no Mazda3 back then...I'd probably stick with Honda/Acura and get a RSX Premium...

Yeah I like the A3 (namely the 2.0T). But they have priced it well above that of other hatchbacks IMO. I'm sure it will be a great used market buy. Hopefully the GTI 2.0T will be more reasonable (and 4 door).

VW has a 4 door GTI in foreign markets. News regarded the North American release has been limited but a lot of people are hoping for a 4 door version.

And yes Donald, I'm apprehensive to own an out of warranty VW/Audi. Beautiful interiors, decent engines but terrible electrical issues and an even worse dealer support system.

actually i never really liked the P5, but my frd likes it a lot (but his parents wants him to get a sedan instead, tho he liked hatches more, got a jetta in the end instead..the old one)

anyways, the reason i never really liked P5 is cuz of the quality issue, ride is comfortable but noisy
-the "3" has already correctly this problem and it doesn't feel cheap anymore
-i was extremely impressed and here i m!!
-so really dunno wut i would hv gotten......

I would go for a m6 or a corolla.  Already did the civic thing.
