Canon Rebel XTi Lenses
«

Anyone know what type of lens do I need to take Pictures with depth.
Here are the type of pictures I wish to take:
1.) A picture of a person, with the background blurred out. So that the person appears to standout against the background.
2.) A picture of a hallway. So that the sharpness goes from nearest to farthest, showing depth.
3.) Taking picture of a object that will appear larger than its background.
These are the pictures I wish to take, however, I don't know what type of lens do I need for these pictures. Can anyone help?

I know very little about lenses, but I would think you would need a zoom lens for #1. Stand further away from the subject and zoom in and focus. Note, the objects in the background will have less perspective falloff.
I can't really picture what you mean in #2.
You can use a wide angle lens for #3.
I'm sure there are some camera experts here that would be able to more descriptively advise you on what to buy.

1. large aperture/long focal length zoom lens
2. pretty much any lens with a large aperture
3. wide angle and short focusing distance
