Why the hell are threads getting locked and deleted when people are trying to solve some issues we've been dealing with lately.

Seems like this is turning into a very narrow minded site.

I can re-open the thread if you like but as long as it doesn't go downhill.

However, it would probably be better if we continued the discussed this in the Site Suggestions and Problems section. The spotted section isn't really the right place for it. I'm going to move this thread over there.

I agree, I don't think anyone likes the tension. As a result of the discussions though, Wings night will be alternating between Delta and Richmond. So it's not like the discussion is totally unproductive Wink

Let's just do it at Coquitlam instead Cheesy or New West (the Surrey people can come from Pattulo and the Richmond people can come from queensbourough) Smiley

I win!

I've thought about New West as well. But it seems like the only thing in New West is strippers! Cheesy

That and I'm not too comfortable leaving my car there lol.

It's even silly to believe that this has become Richmondmazda3.com.

We've had meets all over the place and having Wings in Delta was as central as it could be to accomodate almost everyone.

With regards to having to go to wings to be part of the club......I haven't gone to wings forever...I would think at least a year...and the last 2 wings nights have been in Richmond and I still haven't gone, but does that make me some outsider of the club?  (hmm...maybe I just don't know it...hehe)

And with regards to meets.  Isn't it logical that if one doesn't show up at meets, that the relationship with other members of the club might not be as tight as others who actually show up more often?  One can be an online presence, but it is the meets that allow the real personality of each person to show up, and therefore providing a context for what people write online.

There is no conspiracy or clique or special group in BCMazda3.com.  Sure we have a bunch of people who are actually friends beyond this forum and actually go do stuff without announcing it on here.  I mean just tell someone that you want to hang out, that's what I did.

Out of all of this whining about having to drive so far out etc, I feel the worst for Kev, as he lives in Surrey but is always willing to drive all the way to Vancouver or Richmond to hang out.  Of course, he doesn't see it as a liability or such an effort, because he enjoys hanging out with friends (I think...or he's secretly in love with Dan or Derrick).

Honestly, if coming to meets (or seeing friends in general) becomes an effort and a chore, then one shouldn't go, because obviously it's not for one's enjoyment....but for some other alterior motive.  Just like Church, some people go because they really enjoy the sermons, but some people hate it...but just go because they feel bad or want to exude an image of themselves, that isn't really them.

I don't think it is fair to characterize the club as being centred around Richmond.  Given the diversity in terms of the location of our "local" members, wherever the location of the meets, it will mean quite a distance to travel for some.  Also the timing of the meets are such that some cannot attend due to work, school, or other commitments.

Please do not feel compelled to attend all the meets.  We are not taking attendance.   Having said that, I feel that Kev and company have tried very very hard in setting up meets in different areas in the Lower Mainland in the hopes of allowing most members to attend some meets.

In addition, I think we should encourage all members to hold impromptu meets -- Krispy Kreme in Surrey, bubble tea in Coquitlam, or whatever and whenever.  It's just another way for members to interact with one another in a very informal setting.
