Hi. I'm new here. My wife's 2006 Mazda3 hatchback (AUTO - 168k) has a damaged engine. It runs but it needs to be repaired or replaced. I am trying to decide if I should just get rid of it (send it to the wrecker) or try to sell as-is for parts.  Its not work paying someone to fix it and I don't have the time to work on it myself but I know there are lots of guys / gals who like to work on their cars who may want it.  I also don't have the time to rip it apart for selling piecemeal. Any opinions?

Thanks,

Tony

It runs but the engine ran low on oil and is very noisy. My mechanic said to just get rid of it. Its likely all the bearings etc are damaged.  I called around about rebuilding and a lot of shops were reluctant due to the history of this engine. Hope that helps.
